Frequently asked questions
Does BARTYN really make windows and doors to measure?
Yes. For seven years, BARTYN has made timber windows and entrance doors exclusively to measure, with no mass production or standard stock. Every order is made specifically for your project, from work on historic buildings to demanding new designs.
Can BARTYN supply windows for listed buildings and reproduce historic windows?
That is our speciality. We make 1:1 replicas of historic windows and entrance doors from your photos, double casement windows with inner and outer sashes, windows curved along one axis (cylindrical) for Art Nouveau buildings, and our own particularly slim profile, “Slimline 28”, valued by architects and conservation specialists for its narrow sightlines. On request, we use 3D simulations to support you in discussions with the heritage authority.
Is BARTYN FSC-certified – and what does that mean for my project?
Yes. BARTYN Sp. z o.o. holds FSC Chain of Custody certification (certificate number DNV-COC-001945). This means that the handling of FSC-certified wood throughout processing and sales is documented and monitored under defined rules. For your project, this makes it easier to provide traceable evidence when purchasing FSC-certified products. Not every product or delivery is automatically FSC-certified; the relevant FSC claim on the invoice and the shipping documents is decisive. View our FSC certificate (PDF).
How quickly do I get a quote?
Usually within 1–3 days, once the key technical details have been clarified.
How do you handle quality and complaints?
Our complaint rate is below 1%. If something is wrong and it falls within our responsibility, we remedy it free of charge – through repair or replacement, without lengthy negotiations. We see ourselves as a partner, not just a supplier.
Does BARTYN also offer windows made from materials other than wood?
Timber is our speciality. Our range includes made-to-measure internal doors, wrought-iron grilles, wood carvings and fire protection up to EI120. We also supply aluminium windows and doors using the Aluprof system, timber-aluminium constructions and PVC lift-and-slide doors.
Who does BARTYN work for and in which countries?
We supply window installers, joinery firms and architects across Europe on a B2B basis, primarily in Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands.
What is the usual lead time?
The usual lead time is 8–12 weeks from release for production. For production to be released, we must have received the signed order documents, the signed production drawings where required, and the agreed advance payment.
What are the shipping costs?
For new business customers, the first order is shipped free of charge if it comprises at least five units (windows or doors) or has a net order value of at least €2,500 after all discounts. Further delivery terms are set out in your quotation.
Does BARTYN also carry out installation?
No, BARTYN does not carry out installation itself. If required, we can recommend installation companies.
Can I order a sample window or corner samples?
Business customers can order a complete sample window. Its value is credited against a subsequent order. Corner samples are chargeable.
What guarantee applies to BARTYN timber windows?
According to our guarantee card, BARTYN timber windows are generally covered by a five-year guarantee from the documented handover to the end customer. The guarantee is held by the first end customer who owns the building at the time of purchase. Different periods apply to some components and surface coatings. For special constructions, different terms may be agreed in the order documents. Please refer to our guarantee card for the exact scope, conditions and exclusions.
What care and maintenance do timber windows need?
Under our guarantee card, a specialist contractor, such as the installer, inspects, cleans and lubricates the fittings at least once a year and adjusts them if necessary in line with the system instructions. Also at least once a year, a specialist contractor inspects and cleans the coated timber surfaces, repairs any damage to the coating and applies the recommended care products. The seals are cleaned at least once a year with mild agents; you may do this yourself. Work by the specialist contractor is evidenced by an invoice stating the date, the order/item reference and the work performed; the care card in Annex 2 of our guarantee card serves as a summary.
Who arranges unloading of the window delivery?
The customer arranges unloading and provides suitable personnel and the necessary lifting and transport equipment. Please ensure that vehicles can access the site and that a suitable, level unloading area is available. Our standard delivery vehicles have neither a tail lift nor a crane. If required, we can ask our freight partners to provide a vehicle with unloading equipment; this must be agreed and paid for separately in advance.
